Demonstrating how engineering and building operations can work together to advance whole-building efficiency and comfort, Washington State University’s Schweitzer Hall is a testament to high-performance design. The advanced building design features of this cutting-edge campus building include:

  • Advanced performance dedicated outside air system (DOAS) to support indoor comfort and humidity control in densely occupied classrooms.
  • Energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) transferring heat between incoming and outgoing airstreams to reduce heating and cooling demands.
  • Additional advanced building systems and engineering decisions that support occupant comfort and effective facility operations.
